Arguably one of the best things about cannabis is that there are so many ways you can enjoy it. Smoking and vaping are the most common, and with all the different strains and flavors of cannabis products available on the market, consumers will never get bored. At Tweedleaf, we have indica strains like Cheese Quake, sativa strains like Clementine, and hybrid strains like Skywalker. We also have a wide variety of vape pen cartridges as well.
But now you can have your cake and eat it too — literally. Edibles are the perfect way to enjoy your favorite foods with a twist. And you can get as complex with your food-inspired masterpieces as you want. Some people opt for the delicious late-night brownie, while some people flex their culinary muscles and host marijuana dinner parties. But before we talk more about food, let’s talk about the ‘why’ of edibles.
Why you should take cannabis edibles
You know and love that feeling you get after you smoke cannabis flower. Weed edibles make that feeling last even longer — around six to eight hours more, to be exact. When you eat pot-infused anything, it takes longer to absorb into your body. Once it does, it will hit differently than other forms of cannabis because it will pass through your liver instead of going straight to your brain. Now, let’s talk about the delicious food you can make at home.
Easy-to-make edible recipes
If you’ve never made weed edibles before, this list is a great place to start. Or, if you’re a seasoned edible-maker, hopefully there are some recipes on this list you’ve never tried before.
When you have your own weed butter, you can make almost anything. From pasta to popcorn to chicken pot pie, the recipes are practically endless. But first you have to nail the cannabutter.
Decarb the cannabis and then grind it down
Melt the butter in a saucepan (with a little water)
Add the cannabis and simmer for 2-3 hours
Strain into a jar
You can find more detailed instructions here.
2. Ice Cream
Making homemade ice cream, especially using cannabis products, may sound intimidating, but it’s really not. Here are the instructions:
Melt about 16 ounces of heavy cream in a saucepan
Melt your cannabutter and add sugar
Mix together and add whatever ingredients you want (fruit, chocolate, nuts, etc.)
You can find a more detailed recipe here.
Just like cannabutter, cannaoil is a good foundational recipe that will lead you to a number of new recipes (and it’s just as easy to make).
Decarb the cannabis and then grind it down
Combine an ounce bud with 2 cups of oil of your choosing
Heat for at least six hours or more on lower heat (no boiling)
Strain the oil
Here are more detailed instructions.
Pot brownies are a classic for a reason, so we couldn’t leave them off of this list.
Mix eggs, water, and your cannaoil into your favorite brownie mix
Cook using the instructions on the package
See? It’s seriously so simple.
5. Chocolate chip cookies
Who doesn’t love a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie? Add a little bit of cannabis, and you’re never going to want to eat a regular chocolate chip cookie again.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt in a small bowl
Beat cannabutter, butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in a separate bowl into creamy
Add eggs, then flour mix, and then your chocolate chips
You can find a more detailed recipe to follow here.
6. Mac & Cheese
Another comfort food classic. Here’s how to make cannabis-infused mac & cheese at home:
Boil pasta and drain
Melt your cannabutter, then add salt, flour, and pepper until smooth
Pour milk into the mixture and let it sit 5 mins (or until bubbling)
Add cheese, and then add the pasta
Here is a delicious recipe you can use.

“TweedLeaf is one of so few businesses who take their product seriously, as well as their patients. As a picky consumer, everything is top notch! The staff is always kind and professional and informative, and I feel “safe” when on the premises. I would recommend this place only for people who take their needs seriously. Thank you TweedLeaf, I love you guys!”

“I have visited about 30 Dispensary in my time in Colorado Springs. I have never seen a Dispensary with Cola’s. TweedLeaf sells not just a small bud. But a large Cola larger than my hand! Way to go! Love it.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have been going to Tweedleaf for awhile now, and I have just made Tweedleaf my personal caregiver. I am very picky, about who I let grow my medicine for me. And I found out that everything I wanted in a dispensary was available at Tweedleaf! Great medicine! Great prices! And the best energy I have ever experienced from a dispensary! Plus their membership deals are incredible! Folks, I buy two different strains every time I enter Tweedleaf. 1/8 of sativa and a 1/8 of indica. And out of all the different strains I tried from Tweedleaf (and there was a lot of them) not one bad batch! ???? So folks, if you’re tired of looking for a dispensary to call home, give Tweedleaf a chance. And tell them the guy that looks like Tommy Chong sent you. Peace & Love Daniel. “
